Function
Cable locators are used to assist in the location of buried pipes and cables

Description
The first locator incorporating a none contact switch offering three modes of detection.

• Power Mode locates buried metallic conductor carrying a detectable vlf signal.
• Radio Mode locates live cables radiating a detectable signal.
• Generator Mode locates buried metallic conductors carrying a detectable signal either by induction of preferably connection via signal generator.

Training
Minimum training is required to locate buried services with ease and competence. Should you require training we can adapt on site courses to meet your requirements.

To operate the Signal Generator in Induction, simply stand the Signal Generator on the ground and turn the orange mode selector to the induction position.

To operate the Signal Generator in Direct Connection, connect the Signal Generator to the service you wish to trace using the appropriate connection leads, select the connection mode on the Signal Generator select the generator mode on the TOMCAT and trace the service.

It is advisable to always use "Connection Mode" whenever possible as this is by far the best way to trace and identify buried conductors.

100mm SIGNAL CLAMP

The Signal Clamp allows the operator to apply a signal directly and safely to an
insulted conductor ensuring a good contact without removing the insulation.

Using a Signal Clamp gives the operator the added advantage of applying a
distinct signal on to the designated service which in turn reduces the chance of the signal coupling on to the other services.

The Signal Clamp is applied by plugging the black plug in to the socket in the Signal Generator then place the jaws of the Clamp around the service to be treated ensuring the clamp is fully closed.

Features Include

• 100mm internal diameter
• Used to trace street light and other insulated cables.
• Can be adapted to use with other makes of Signal Generator.
